Branching Off
A colleague at work surprised me by handing me an invitation to his wedding. I was surprised because we seldom spoke to one another and had only socialized once when we were all given tickets to a New Orleans Breakers pro football game in the Superdome because our hastily drawn up bid on a huge contract had won. Anyway, I had nothing scheduled for that date so I went.
After the ceremony a grand garden reception was held at the residence of the parents of the bride. Following the photo shoot and obligatory round of toasts, the guy took me aside and told me his new wife had been joking with him about her sister’s panties getting damp from just observing me, and I should check her out. That caught me off guard because he always came off as a very conservative southern White male, and they damn sure do not want the women in their family getting involved with a Black man.
I found a seat near the rented dance floor to watch the women showing off so the serving lines for food and beverages could thin out. As I let my eyes roam over the bodies of the beauties, his new sister-in-law walked up with a plate and leaned over handing it to me. She said she wanted me to be comfortable as the only Black person present, so she was serving me her plate. I noticed that she kept the food level with her breasts. They were medium size but the low “V” cut front made one of her areola appear to be about to fully come into view. Instead of grasping the plate from the sides, I slipped my hands under it to grasp the plate from the edge closest to her so that I had to graze her breasts to accept the dish. She made a hissing suction sound before she straightened up and said she was going to fetch a non-alcoholic beverage for me. So, she had learned that I refrain from alcohol so she had been asking questions about me.
She came back with a beverage for each of us and sat next to me. Then she leaned over and said it was too bad there was more than ample seating because otherwise she could have sat on my lap and fed me the food on my plate.
